Strengthening Families/Signs of Safety
The Local Safeguarding Children’s Board Northamptonshire (LSCBN) has adopted the Strengthening Families approach as an integral part of their child protection framework. This approach supports assessment of risk using a strength and resilience model to engage children, young people and families.
A key first step in implementation is to change the way in which Child Protection Conferences share and organise information and make a decision as to whether a plan needs to be in place to reduce the risk of harm to the child. This new way of facilitating conferences will start on May 1st 2012.
