Strengthening Families/Signs of Safety The Local Safeguarding Children's Board Northamptonshire (LSCBN) has adopted the Strengthening Families approach as an integral part of their child protection framework. This approach supports assessment of risk using a strength and resilience model to engage children, young people and families. A key first step in implementation is to change the way in which Child Protection Conferences share and organise information and make a decision as to whether a plan needs to be in place to reduce the risk of harm to the child. This new way of facilitating conferences will start on May 1st 2012. For further information on Strengthening Families: Signs of Safety Multi-agency briefing workshops have been held to support with the changes. We are currently finalising documentation and will publish these shortly. For a copy of the multi-agency workshop presentation slides and information pack please contact: Workforcedevelopment@northamptonshire.gov.uk |
